Ingredients for the best pizza base
- 250 g pizza and focaccia flour mixture with yeast
- about 140 ml fresh water (lukewarm)
- 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
- salt to taste.
Instructions for making the best pizza base
- Mixing the dough:
o Sift the pizza flour into a large bowl.
o Add salt (for example 1/2 teaspoon) to the flour and mix.
o Make a well in the middle and pour in the lukewarm water and olive oil. - How to knead the dough:
o First mix the ingredients with a fork until they are blended into a smooth dough.
o Then knead the dough with your hands for 8-10 minutes until it becomes elastic and smooth.
o If the dough is too dry, add a little more water; if it is too sticky, add a little more flour. - Raising the dough:
o Grease a large bowl lightly with olive oil and place the dough in it.
o Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until it
has doubled in size. - Shaping the pizza:
o Once the dough has risen, gently fold it down and place it on a floured work surface.
