A nice warm cup of hot cocoa is just what the current cold weather needs to keep you warm inside. Or was it hot chocolate after all? Although this tasty condiment is also in the hearts of Estonians, many don’t know that cocoa and hot chocolate are actually two slightly different drinks.
What is hot cocoa?
Hot cocoa is made from a powder obtained by heating cocoa beans over high heat. Sugar and other additives are then added and mixed with milk or water. Hot cocoa tends to be sweeter and lighter in consistency because of the additives.
What is hot chocolate?
Hot chocolate is made using real chocolate. The chocolate is chopped, grated or cut into small pieces and added to warm milk or water, where it melts away nicely. Really hot chocolate has a much richer taste.
What to choose?
If you’re used to drinking hot cocoa at home or in a café, try hot chocolate for a change. The Da Vinci Food range has some exciting variations for you to try: cherry or almond flavour, white chocolate and a little nutty Gianduja. Invite your friends over and discover the sweet, but slightly different, flavours of cocoa and hot chocolate here.
Enjoy testing,
