Cocoa or hot chocolate?

28.04.2023

A nice, warm cup of hot cocoa is exactly what brings some inner warmth in this cold weather. Or was it hot chocolate after all? Although this delightful treat has found its way into the hearts of Estonians, many don’t realize that cocoa and hot chocolate are actually two slightly different drinks.

What is hot cocoa?

Hot cocoa is made from a powder obtained by roasting cocoa beans at high temperatures. Sugar and other ingredients are then added and mixed with milk or water. Due to these additives, hot cocoa tends to be sweeter and has a lighter consistency.

What is hot chocolate?

Real chocolate is used to make hot chocolate. The chocolate is chopped, grated, or cut into small pieces and added to warm milk or water, where it melts nicely. Real hot chocolate has a much richer flavor.

What should I choose?

If you’re used to drinking hot cocoa at home or in a café, we recommend trying hot chocolate for a change. Da Vinci Food’s product range includes Moretto varieties to try: cherry or almond flavor, white chocolate, and the slightly nutty Gianduja. Invite your friends over and discover the sweet, yet slightly different, world of flavors in cocoa and hot chocolate here.

Have fun experimenting,
